Meet the Team

Lawanna McNeal

Lawanna is a Registered Nurse and one of the founding members of PULSE. Lawanna attended and graduated from San Jacinto College in Houston, TX in 1993 with her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree. She remained at San Jacinto College to complete her Associates Degree as a Registered Nurse in 1999. She continued her formal education by attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 2004.


Lawanna has worked as a nurse since 1993. She has worked at Texas Children’s Hospital for over 23 years. Lawanna holds a national certification in Low Risk Neonatal Nursing. She has been in her current positon at Texas Children’s Hospital as a Patient Care Manager of the Newborn Center NICU II Nursery since January of 2014.

Juanna Wooten- Armstrong

Juanna is a Registered Nurse and one of the founding members of PULSE. Juanna attended San Jacinto College in Houston, TX where she obtained a degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1994. She continued at San Jacinto College and received an Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse in 1996. In 2004 she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.


Juanna has worked at Texas Children’s Hospital for over 24 years as a Pediatric Nurse, working in various different departments. She holds a national certification in Pediatric Nursing. Juanna is a certified BLS/CPR instructor. Currently she is a Patient Care Manager in the Neurology Unit since 2014
